An attempt at dubstep.

Another historical collection, this time from my period in the UK, living mainly in Manchester. I was working lots, living on my own, and coming home in the evening to make music, with less equipment but more focus. It has a slightly reflective feel, and more in a house-y vein than other collections, although still with some ambient and d&b influences, too many to name. Snow at Easter actually happened.

An album from the past, at a particular time of my life. This is a collection of longer, more ambient, and possibly more indulgent tracks that let it all out. Strong influences from Global Communication, Woob, Future Sound of London, and others. In many ways, my favourite and possibly best collection. At a respectable 14m39s, Aerobic is perhaps the highlight.

I'm finding it hard to categorise this one. A bit of everything, including guitar.

More psychedelic electronica, but a little more techno.

Psychedelic electronica.

Deep, hard techno. Nothing more, nothing less.

A loop-driven house track, that sounds a bit like a mix because it keeps changing.

A short mellow and melodic track, with a nod to the Plaid boys.

An obvious and direct nod to the legendary Richard H. Kirk -- a legend at least in my house. It's a long track at over ten minutes, but the repetition takes time to develop and sink in.

A harder drum&bass track, inspired by a recent immersive descent into the d&b scene, particularly the artists at Hospital Records in the UK. D&B has a real edge to it sometimes, but can also be playful and light-hearted, all within a similar structure. This is an attempt to cultivate something on the darker side.

Another one from the archive, from 1997. Turn down the lights, lie with your head between the speakers.

I've merged Talk to the Wall into Particles to make a longer and more complete set of music, given that most of the tracks were created and reworked around the same time.

I've added yet another track from the archives, called Disuse, from the Derivative collection, done in 1999 while living in Manchester. Moody. Think orange-coloured streetlights reflecting in a late night drizzle.

I've updated the site with a new cheesy logo and a white colour scheme. I've also added an auto-discovery Atom feed, plus a graphical link for the manual types. With updated jQuery libraries, I live in hope that it may just work in most browsers.

I've grouped the newer tracks under the album name Particles. There's not much of a common thread there yet -- it ranges from up-tempo tracks like Servolex to the deep ambience of Ilmeg. But that's ok.

Here's a new breaks track called Servolex. It's got guitars, man. After several goes at mastering it, I'm pretty happy with it.

An 'intelligent d&b' track, reworked to give it some more edge. Still not 100% happy with it, but I like it more than the older version.
